How To: Beach Waves

As sad as it is to admit, summer is coming to an end. What a fun summer it has been! Complete with a chemistry class, a nannying job, many nights with friends, a trip to NYC, many Pinterest crafts/artworks, spending time with my wonderful family and boyfriend, and perfecting my beach waves. I have an obsession with this effortless look that actually IS effortless! I am going to walk you through my tousled, beach wave routine so you can try it out on your own!

{1}Before getting in the shower, brush dry hair and find side or middle part using comb. This is important because you will not be brushing your hair after you wash it.
{2}Shampoo and condition hair, not losing your middle part.
{3}Before even stepping out of the shower, lightly "scrunch" hair with hands, but DO NOT brush it. Brushing the hair creates frizz and destroys natural wave/curl.
{4}At this point, you may choose to very lightly scrunch hair with a very soft towel, old t-shirt, or even paper towels. A rough towel will create frizz.
{5}Next, spray sea salt spray into hair. My personal favorite is Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. Be careful to not spray too much.
{6}Finally, let hair air dry, and do not touch your hair while it is drying to avoid frizz!

AND, you're done! You have effortless, tousled beach waves to bring a summer spirit into the upcoming, cooler, fall months! Enjoy!

P.S. - For second and third day hair, just spray some sea salt spray and maybe touch up waves with a curling iron!
